Summary
In 1907 the Admiralty of the Woolwich Royal Arsenal designated a site at Greenock to become the Clyde Torpedo Factory. This factory operated at the forefront of torpedo technology until the Royal Navy moved production to Alexandria in 1947. The factory closed down in 1959.
