Summary
David Bushnell was an American engineer and inventor. After graduating from Yale (1775), Bushnell designed and built America's first submarine, the Turtle. It was the first submarine ever to be used in combat. He was also the first person to create a timed bomb and to prove that gunpowder could be used under water.
