The Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, Bristol, Rhode Island, builders of steam yachts, launches and torpedo boats was founded in 1878 by Nathanael Greene Herreshoff (1848-1938), naval architect and mechanical engineer and John Brown Herreshoff (1841-1915), yacht designer.
