Summary
Reverend George Garrett was a clergyman and pioneering submarine designer.
In 1878 he built the hand-cranked 14 feet long submarine Resurgam. In 1879 he built a second Resurgam that was 30 feet long.
Engineer Thorsten Nordenfelt was impressed by these and they had a brief partnership constructing submarines for the Greek, Turkish and Russian Governments.
