- Abstract
The Polyphemus had been dry docked at Chatham to have her propellers shipped and the framework, which had been secured to her bottom to support the launching gear, removed. One week later she was to be taken out of dock and placed in the adjoining basin, where her machinery was to be tested before she went on her ocean steam trials.
