War and technology have influenced every era of man's history; the literature that addresses them is vast. This essay will discuss only those works, mostly books, that have taken as their primary focus (or at least as a major theme) the interrelationship of war and technology. These will be mostly English-language books dealing with the history of the Western world. The purpose is to convey some sense of the range of this field and a sampling of the literature.
