"QinetiQ comprising the bulk of the former UK Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA), has showcased a new submarine research and technology centre established at its Winfrith site in Dorset southern England.

The centre's principal activities comprise:
- Whole submarine platform design and concept studies.
-Combat system modelling.
-Fully reelable sonar, towed array design.
-Towed system handling and discharge
-Submarine-launched unmanned underwater vehicles.
-Shallow water autonomous above water survey vehicles.
