A steam launch constructed of "delta metal" [a brass alloy containing 55% copper, 41-43% zinc and 1-3% iron with the balance being filled with a mixture of undisclosed metals] was exhibited at the Crystal Palace in the joint names of Mr. Alexander Dick, the manufacturer of the new alloy, and Messrs. Yarrow and Co., the builders of the launch.
