Augustin Normand and Co. continue the debate regarding torpedo boat trials, stating: 'With regard to the three hours' trials, we should observe that theoretically speaking, there is no limit to the speed of boats supplied with mechanical ventilation; it is a question of pitch of screw, fuel and air pressure, and also of good design and workmanship of engines and skill in their management.'
