It was reported in the Levant Herald that in a struggle for crossing the bows during a race between the Viceroy Kassim Pasha's steam yacht Mahrousse and Prince Napoleon's yacht Jerome Napoleon on the 18th of June 1868 the Mahrousse crossed the bows of the Jerome Napoleon three times leaving the French Captain of the Jerome Napoleon in no doubt that he had wasted two days of valuable time only to have his owner's fast yacht beaten.
