Abstract

'NEWPORT. Sept. 24 - Patrick Cunningham of New - Bedford, Mass., has obtained permission from the Bureau of Ordnance of the Navy Department for another trial of the Cunningham rocket torpedo, and it will be conducted by officers of the Torpedo Station at an early date… Cunningham was in Newport Monday on his way from Washington to New - Bedford, and reported a very satisfactory visit to Commodore Sampson regarding the torpedo, and orders to proceed with the trials are now expected daily.'
