- Abstract
Buoyancy, stability, the placement of ballast, fuel, trimming and compensation tanks was discussed in detail. The distinguished designer Laurents was also present during these discussions and suggested that it would be advisable to investigate a further stability condition. This was the emergency ready-to-dive condition in which the Kingston valves to the main ballast tanks were open, but not the tank air vents.
