"The first customer trials of the new Black Shark dual-purpose wire-guided heavyweight torpedo have been completed by Whitehead Alenia Sistemi Subacqui (WAAS) aboard the new Chilean submarine O'Higgins. Black Shark incorporates a totally new Advanced Sonar Transmitting and Receiving Architecture (ASTRA) active/passive acoustic homing head, a fibre-optic guidance link and spool, a new electric motor and a skewed contra-rotating propeller."
