"The UK Royal Navy's (RN's) Merlin HM Mk1 anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter has continued to impress British military officials during the aircrafts continuing operational performance acceptance procedure trials in the Bahamas. The trials aircraft conducted Merlin's first Stingray drop against one of the RN's five Swiftsure-class nuclear-powered attack submarines on the 30th of March 2000 with the telemetry system-equipped weapon dropped from 200 feet (61 metres) at a speed of 120 knots (222 km/h). Seven further Stingray drops were scheduled during the US Naval Undersea Warfare Center's Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) trials."
