A detailed description of the boilers of the torpedo-boat destroyer Daring (length 185 feet, beam 19 feet, draught 6 feet, displacement 220 tons; contracted speed 27 knots) the first of a new class of torpedo-boat destroyers built by Messrs. J. I. Thornycroft and Co., of Chiswick for the Admiralty. Armament; one 12-pounder quick-firing gun, three six-pounder quick-firing guns, and three 18-inch torpedo tubes.
