Following a series of successful experiments at Crondstadt (Krondstadt) to establish the practical value of this four man submarine designed by a Mr. Dgevetski the Russian Admiralty was reported to have ordered the construction of fifty of these vessels for use in the Black Sea, and the Baltic.
