The continuous run of contracts that Yarrow and Company had been entrusted with had compelled them to enlarge their premises. The vacant premises of Westwood and Bailie were purchased, the site cleared, and new buildings erected. The site was eleven acres in area, and had a river frontage of nearly 700 feet.
