- Abstract
Five stokers collapsed while raking out the fires of the torpedo boat destroyer Tiger at Devonport. No explanation could be found for the stoker's collapse but it was suspected that it was due to the generation of a large volume of carbonic acid gas caused by throwing water on the drawn fires.
