Short, fat, funnels had long been associated with Clydebank destroyers, but were soon to cease to be a guide. The Electra and other boats not in commission were to have their funnels made nearly half as high again as their previous hight. After these modifications the Electra's funnels were as high as those of the Bullfinch.
