- Abstract
The two destroyers reported to have been captured at Taku were thought to be Schichau destroyers. At the time these were reckoned to be amongst the best, if not the best destroyers afloat, and a good many duplicates were being built for Russia and Italy. They had two enormous funnels, which would have presented a large target in action. However, they would have provided a fine draught for as long as they lasted.
