- Abstract
It was reported that the Admiralty had purchased a destroyer fitted with Parsons' turbines. The vessel (length 323 feet, beam 20 feet 6 inches; draught 7 feet) built at Elswick, was tried off the mouth of the Tyne in mid-March and attained a maximum speed of 35.886 knots, and a mean speed of 34 knots, it was said that the vessel could maintain this speed for six hours.
