The 31-knot destroyer Oboro built by Yarrow and Company, Limited, Poplar, for the Imperial Japanese Government, passed her official trial on the 14th of October, 1899, and was being prepared to follow her four sister ships to Japan. Captain Kurobe and Commander Kondo and staff assisted Admiral Kaminura at the trial.
