- Abstract
The authority of Admiral Colomb was invoked by opponents of the German Navy Bill in favour of torpedo boat destroyers against battleships. The torpedo boat destroyer was described as merely being "the torpedo boat of the Atlantic." German Naval authorities claimed that their divisional and "S" class torpedo boats were a match for English destroyers in warfare against battleships in the Baltic and North Sea.
