- Abstract
On the 5th of February 1896 the torpedo boat Viper (length147 feet 6 inches, beam 14 feet 9 inches) built by Messrs. Yarrow and Company, Poplar, for the Austrian Government, achieved a mean speed of 26.633 knots during six consecutive runs over the measured mile.
