- Abstract
Yarrow and Company of Poplar declined a contract for two of twenty new torpedo boat destroyers being built for the British Government. Messrs. Thornycroft and Company, and Laird and Company, each received an order for four, and it was believed by the authors of the Naval and Military Record that Messrs. J. and G. Thomson, Glasgow, had also been invited to build two of the thirty-knot vessels.
