- Abstract
The United States press had been disturbed by the publication of two articles in The Engineer concerning the theft of drawings and information from English engineers and shipbuilders, but not a single voice had been raised in condemnation of the thefts. The Editors of The Engineer stressed that the information stolen was not the property of the Government; it was in fact the private property of the designers or inventors who had developed the vessels, and should be treated as such.
