- Abstract
H.M.S. Lynx (length 199 feet, beam 19 feet 4 inches, draught 9 feet; displacement 280 tons) built by Messrs. Laird Brother's Works for the British Government was launched by Miss Mary Laird, the daughter of Mr. William Laird, on the 24th of January 1894. The Lynx was the sister ship to H.M.S. Ferret, launched from the same yard in December 1893.
