Abstract

The Editor of The Engineer observed that there had been an almost feverish activity with regards to the construction of torpedo boats in France. Great progress had been made in the construction of first-class torpedo boats, and a considerable number had been added to the French fleet. The Editor of The Engineer was of the opinion that Britain would have to build another fifty more "catchers" to counter this threat in 1893.
