- Abstract
Torpedo boat No. 79 (length 125 feet, beam 13 feet, draught 3 feet 4 inches; trial speed 22.4 knots) built by Messrs. Yarrow and Co., Poplar, for the British Government, completed turning circle trials of, 80 yards in diameter in 59 seconds, going ahead to port, and, 90 yards in diameter in 57 seconds going to starboard. Going astern to starboard; turning circles of 70 yards in diameter in 70 seconds, and to port; 60 yards in diameter in 60 seconds were achieved. It was noted that the vessel was particularly free from vibration at all speeds.
