- Abstract
The torpedo vessel Fulminate (length 75 feet, beam 15 feet, draught 6 feet; trial speed 11.5 miles per hour), was fitted with Whitehead torpedoes, Harvey torpedoes, spar torpedoes and seven torpedo mines complete with circuit closers, anchors and electric cables. Designed by Captain Freitas, the chief of the Portuguese torpedo school and built by the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company, London, for the Portuguese Government.
